Hello world!
I’d like to take this brisk, late winter morning to share a meditation from my run today. I was considering the importance of stopping, how sometimes we have to not only slow down, but actually stop to see. It reminded me of this poem by Esther Belin:
When Roots are Exposed
I.
The empty of stomach
manifests silence
a stillness
that levels
coffee in a cup
and in a respectful manner
allows steam to penetrate
the surface.
Reversal of action
has created my sandstone canyon
rooted cedar and sage at my feet.
This movement is where
a tranquility stems.
I encourage everyone to take a moment of stillness on your next run, reverse action, and allow yourself to level. See what tranquility comes from it!
